The Urinary System
The organs of the urinary system include the kidney, the renal pelvis, the ureter, the urinary bladder, and the urethra.
The urinary system, is also known as the renal system. The renal system functions to store, produce and eliminate liquid waste in the form of urine. This is done through the process of filtering out unwanted substances from the blood, and excess water from the blood. Some of the water is readsorbed in efforts to maintain osmotic balance. Once the urine has been produces by the kidneys, it travels through the urethra to the bladder, until in is expelled from the body through the urethra.
