DIVERSITY

Celebrating our uniqueness

Celebrating Diversity

A Short Excerpt Taken from my Book, Verne the Sperm.

   Thanks to genetic
diversity,
I don't look like you and
you don't look like me.

   Aren't you glad
that no person should suffer
  to look like their Dad,
or look like their Mother?

GET INVOLVED!

The cultural centers have something for everyone! I have selected a few events that may be of interest. My personal favorite, is the play, The Vagina Monologues. This Obie Award-winning play from the 1990's features hilarity, tragedy sexuality, and heartbreak. It is a collection of wildly divergent stories that will make a lasting impression.

Vagina Monologues
Thursday February 1, 2018 (Spanish)
and
Friday February 2, 2018 (English)

7:00 pm @ The University Theater

Hosted by the V-Team and Women’s Resource Center
The Vagina Monologues is made up of a varying number of monologues read by a varying number of women. Each of the monologues deals with an aspect of the feminine experience, touching on matters such as sex, love, rape, menstruation, female genital mutilation, masturbation, birth, orgasm, the various common names for the vagina, or simply as a physical aspect of the body. A recurring theme throughout the piece is the vagina as a tool of female empowerment, and the ultimate embodiment of individuality. English and Spanish productions of the Vagina Monologues are performed annually. Tickets will be sold via Eventbrite.
